Stu - a suggestion ( for once not a cath cookson lol)- myself I would never even think of competing in such a tournament. There are way too many big spenders who are happy to spin max on slots to seem as if they win lots - which for the purposes of a tournament they will - but end up actually losing. ( even tho they will ” win” the prize money). I am a player who will spin a max of 45 p my reckoning being if i win 40 quid on a 45 spin i`m better of spinning 10 spins@ 45p rather than risking losing 45 quid on the gamble that i`ll win 400. I think a tourney like this will be limited to those big spenders who can afford to max bet ( and gl to them cos I`m only happy to bet wat I can afford to lose)- so heres my idea: (!) - why not charge every player say £20 for £500 worth of credits on slots. Mania keep a percentage and the rest goes towards the 1st 2 nd n 3rd prize? Then for 20 quid each player would get an equal chance of winning the prize money - which ( depending on player numbers ) could be up to 150 quid. All u wud need is some 30 players ( which Im sure ud get more) paying 20 quid a throw = 600 quid = 1st prize of 150 2nd of 75 3rd of 50 = profit for mania of 325 quid so everyones a winner( except the losers of course - lol - but who would have all entered knowing they had an equal chance.
I know i sed I wouldnt do a cath cookson but hey well such is life. Moxy finally had an idea!Duuno wat everyone else thinks but I or one wont even think of competing in this particular tourney.
And before u say - ty I know I`m a business whizz- going to enter the apprentice next year. rofl- except I know Alan Sugar and me wud clash cos i know better.
moxy i seen that done on another site, and was gooddddddddd, cos ya all started with same money on ur slot, so if u was brave u could max spin it something most ppl dont normally do lol, and u had 24hrs with that amount to do as good as u could, each player was assingned a diff acc tho so no cheating could accur ( using own cash)a lot of hard work for someone !! but its good idea and god fun

have to say though that i agree completely with moxy on this - when i do play slots and it is not often due to the cost, i could never compete with others that i am sure do max out etc.
Their choice and no criticism but then when you get tourneys of this type most players are not even in the running are they?

Would just like to say, the beeping at the start of each game is doing my head in, would someone do something about this please, penetrating and annoying to say the least, Im not the only one to comment or complain, others have mentioned on site hows it hasnt gone down well with them too, I dont understand why we have this anyway, is there a point to it, i do what most do and turn the sound off sometimes, but need the sound really, to listen if distracted doing something else, anyone else got a comment on this, i be very supprised if anyone is for this, but hey, you never know, god bless great britain,

Yes Rola i agree with you i dont think there is a need for that silly noise, as you say its so distracting when your trying to do other things i have to have my sound off all the time as i do a lot of work on this comp and like to play music on it when working.
If that can take a colour off the screen for someone i’m sure they can do this ,

Well, the beeping im on about is the one in pound, the other rooms might not be as loud, but it sure is in pound, as per caller voice volume,
Starbucz, I am and others are very aware of the mute button, if you just raise your head a little to the blog 14, red alert points out he listens whilst doing other things, i also do this, so muting isnt an option, not for us anyway, anyway moving on, stu and crew, could you look at this please, i wouldnt really object to a much lower tone, it is high pitched,

sorry guys but I`m pmsl @ this post . If ya wanna play bingo - turn sound off on comp - otherwise listen to ur music. I know it`s annoying but if u rather listen to music turn bingo off - if ya wanna play bingo turn comp sound off - orrrr if u rather do both play ur music and put up with the beeps.The “beep” is prob in software so nothing mania can do about it. Trying hard not to laff here - maybe we could “de beep” the site and change the colours all at once? We cud even have a party to mark the occasion?

I do a lot of work on my comp, i like to play bingo- and listen to music all at the same time. as for the beep being in the software i’m sure the techies know how to delete it personaly i cant see why they need a beep its just an annoying noise.
Anyone else not like it ? I’m sure if Moxy didnt like something she would raise her voice and try to get things changed.

Nowhere will you find me moaning or complaining . To me there are far more important things in life than online bingo which is a hobby. A few beeps can be got rid of by muting the sound on your computer.
I am entitled to my views exactly as everyone else- and yes - you are right, if I wasn`t happy with something I would speak up. I didn`t realise this issue was so important to you and I`m sorry if I offended you.
Re- the bleeps.
My son is driven mad by them - sometimes when i want to paly bingo (well ok ALL the time !!) he wants the computer for downloading music.
Well he gets irate at the fact every 5/6 mins there is this annoying beep which is there even IF hte sound is OFF on the bingo.
The sound is always off on my bingo so no-one knows i am playing lol lol lol
Anyway if something could be done to get it off I would be happy as would my irritation - oops so sorry son, bless him.
One other thing - this was never on here before the new server as I never had this problem before, so it must be something that mania can fix - well at least their techie guys can?
And whilst they are at it could someone PLEASE fix it so we can see the prize money in LB before we buy our tickets?
I never know how much I am playing for (not that i win it lol) but ti would be nice to know before i buy like it used to be?

I flick on this blog around once a week only to find that people who have blogged over a like or dislike just get others belittling what they have to say or have a dig. The blog is intended as a communal board not to insult others intelligence or poke fun at what they have to say. Anyway its not a nice blog board to read at times and must put others off expressing their opinions.

i would just like to say that i also find the beeps annoying. i also sometimes like to listen to music and .. also play shall we say …without anyone knowing. i have tried muting the bingo but when i have my music on i still get the beeps. i’m sorry if anyone finds this trivial.

Well, a few have now said they dont like the beeps, and explained why, a couple have given a remedy of muting, which has been explained dosnt work, nobody has said actually they like the beeping at all, so could mania please look at the argument and decide for us whether they will keep it or remove it please, I grant you it is a small matter, but it is a very annoying one, and surely keeping the customers happy is a major factor, anyway, enjoyed the blog,

having read this properly and turned my sound on - I like the bleeps on the countdown to bingo- so I vote to keep them. It`s a handy reminder that bingo is about to begin and quite often im busy doing other stuff didn`t realise how handy the bleeps were - it reminds me my game is starting even if I`m on auto. Cool!!!!
I agree Moxy, I can see that the bleeps can be annoying but I personally would prefer to keep them, they are a handy reminder that the game is about to start.
I usually sit in just the 1 chat room but I sometimes have more than that room open, although I dont chat in the others, but as I cant fit all the rooms on my screen at one time I usually have them minimised but not on auto as I dont always play all the games in the other rooms, so to my way of thinking the bleeps let me know that I have a game starting in another room.
However, although I prefer to keep the bleeps, I can see that they could be annoying to others that perhaps listen to music while playing etc, but at least they dont last for more than 30 seconds each time.
Lol grumps this will be the first time we do not agree!!!!!!!!!

Seriously tho, I respect the reasons why some peeps want to keep the bleeps and why some would prefer to get rid of them, myself and others had problems with the colour highlighting the prize amounts and we were lucky in the respect that it was changed, so I can understand why some peeps would like the bleeps removed and I hope a solution is found to suit all.
Nice to see we get a really quick response from the mania team (NOT) on wether the bleep is going or not.

Well red alert, I understand that getting a quick decision isnt likely, some are for this and some against, well 2 against, and mania will be beavering away at this time im sure, trying to come to a right decision on what to do, but i for one would wait a while longer if they was to lose the beeps, these things take time, would say a marathin as against a sprint, would be nice to have an answer as to wether they are thinking about it though, are they on holiday, are meetings only called one a month, lol only joking, take your time mania, but please do think about it seriously, small matters are the most annoying, for me personally, its the high pitch of the beeps that get to me, piercing, high pitched, middle ground might be to lower the pitch a little, anyway, i await the outcome,

I’ve been speaking with our techs and unfortunately the bleeps are a part of the software and we can’t change it at the moment. We have spoken to the developers and suggested that in future versions we should be able to give people control over whether to have the bleeps or not.
We know it’s important to you to have the ability to choose whether to have the bleeps or not and we’ll do as much as we can to get it changed in the next version.
