Farewell Cracker

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the loss of one of our favourite Maniacs – DAME CRACKER.

Dame Cracker

Cracker, real name Carol, joined BingoMania in February 2007 and quickly became loved by all the roomies and GMs. She joined in with the community and had a great sense of fun. She was always quick with a kind word when someone needed lifted, even when she recently found out that she had cancer and that it was untreatable. In her inimitable style, instead of retreating into herself she continued to join in the fun and spirit of BingoMania.

Sadly, Carol lost the fight against cancer in the early hours of Thursday, 8th May.

The heartfelt thoughts and prayers of all at BingoMania are with the family at this difficult time.

This is so awful - I didn’t know her for long but what I did know of her was lovely.
I will never forget the first day i joined was the day she won the JP in LB.
I was so impressed to see a ‘real’ person win the money.
She was so shocked and happy, that is how i will remember her - happy and so funny.
She always made you laugh - with a zest for life it is unfair that hers has been cut short so quickly.

I came on line around 7 pm to be met with this very very sad news. I am absolutely gutted that our Cracker is no longer with us.

She did deal with this illness with great fortitude whilst retaining her caring attitude for other people on Mania.

Cracker lived just 20 mins away from me and we had decided we were going to meet up. She said to me let’s do it after my procedure which I think was this past Monday. Big regret now that I didn’t suggest it sooner and could have met dear Cracker in person.

My thoughts go out to her family at this very very sad time.

Mania will never forget Cracker not me.

Dame was always so very Friendly towards everyone. always helping if she could.

Carol knew me for many years outside of mania - we were both addicted to bingo She introduced me to mania so I could become a maniac and play alongside all the lovely roomies/ Now at least she is at peace and out of pain - I like many of you miss her greatly.
