Skippy and I decided that the final OBME of 2008 should be a very special one. As you know, nominations are made on the basis of ‘an outstanding contribution to chat’, and there are 9 people in particular, without whom chat would be very dull indeed.
Therefore, the nominees for the December OBME are…

and the Order of the BingoMania Empire for December goes to …
drum roll…
All the BingoMania UK GMs, in recognition of their hard work and dedication. A very big Thank you! to all of you.

We have had a lot of great entries again this year in a contest that has had more comebacks than The Rolling Stones. After much deliberation, mulled wine and mince pies we have finally been able to decide the winners of this year’s Christmas Name Contest.
In the category Creative/Original, first prize of £50 cash goes to the alphabetically challenged THE 1ST NO L. Second place and £25 cash goes to the easily satisfied YULETIDEMEOVER and the third prize of £10 cash goes to the seasonal and nawty (at least she’s honest) Im sNOangel.
Some of the names submitted this year gave us more laughs than The Two Ronnie’s Christmas Special. In the category Outrageously Funny, first prize of £50 cash goes to Sinderella’s best mate, fairy gobmuvva. Second place and £25 cash goes to the meteorologically astute gizaREINmacDEER and the third prize of £10 cash goes to the colourful rudyrednose.
Skippy got all excited when he heard that the final category to be judged was Spirit of Christmas until we told him that we didn’t mean he would be sampling drinks. Even with no House Party or Mr Blobby in sight, first place and £50 cash goes to Papa Noel. Second place and £25 cash (which will pay for plenty of chapstick) goes to MisLToe and the third prize of £10 cash goes to what we wish for most of all, happyxmas2uall.
Well done to all our winners and if you didn’t quite make it into the top rankings this year, we hope that you will enjoy the little gift which Skippy Claus leaves in your stockings tonight.
TT, Med, Wobbly, Pops, Midge, Sappy, Chocs, Tiger, Sparks and all the other staff here at BingoMania UK wish you all a great Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

Our server is called Mojo. Our Mascot is called Skippy. But we think it’s a bit of a shame that our bingo callers don’t have a name. Well, obviously, they’ve got real names but we want BINGO names. That’s why we’ve arranged this little contest.
![]() |
- Yep, we want a creative name for each one of our four female bingo callers. Note: Gladys or Irene just won’t cut it.
- We’ll take your suggestions on our blog
- Leave your suggestions in the comment form below
For example:
Madhouse _____________
The Pound _____________
Second Chance _____________
Fair & Square & Little Britain ____________ - Send in the best names and you’ll get a complimentary £25 bonus.
- Suggestions will be accepted until Wednesday, December 5th
- We’ll declare the winners on Thursday, December 6th (if we can’t decide, we may ask for your help again).
I’m looking forward to some of your suggestions : )

What’s with the weather? …Is this the effect of global warming or just a string of bad weather? If you’ve seen the documentary of Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth”, then you might be wondering.
Regardless of what the cause of the recent weather is, I’d really like to spread some sunshine your way : ) I was chatting with GM TartanTerror (our GM Supervisor) and we came up with this fun idea:
1) You send us a picture of yourself with the rainy, wet background and your saddest face
2) Everyone who sends in a pic, will receive some sunny BBs
3) Then you send us a 2nd picture of yourself with some sun behind you and your happiest face
4) We let the community vote on the best before and after’s
5) There will be a little Sunshine Grand Prize for the best three voted Before and After Photos
Please send us your pics to gmtartanterror@bingomania.co.uk and will post them up for you on our blog.
Important Dates:
- Sunday, July 15th last day to send in sad photo
- Wednesday July 18th, last day to send in happy photo
Now, go get that Camera and snap away.
