Busy day here on the ManiaStu blog, the votes are being tallied for Friday’s bingo party, our server, little Rusty decided to join the blog discussions and I’ve been down as a result of not being able to deliver 100% up time to you.

Today, I’d like to share with you an inspiring video and probably one of the greatest love stories of all-time. It’s the story of a dad and the love for his son.

I think you’ll enjoy it.

A subject very close to my heart as those who know me will know so well. I think that we have been especially chosen to be the people we are and I am also a carer for my wonderful son. The love these children have in their hearts cannot be matched anywhere. They give you all they have and truly ask for nothing in return. I have lost count of the times I have sat by his bed for nights on end praying for him. He first smiled at 6 weeks old and I swear he has never stopped, even through the tough times he still had a smile for his Mum. As Kate will tell you, there is nothing in the world that can equal that smile, the love it holds can never be beaten. Luvs ya Kate xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Kate and Saffy.
Whilst I am sure your children are your inspiration, both of you are ours. My eldest son has had many health problems from birth, my eldest daughter was born without her kidney and she has been through it too, but I am very lucky that they are independant of me.
Special children are given to special parents, that i truly believe, and I think they chose well with you two.

Well Im gonna share summat with yas all now, and prob bore yas all to death, and I dont normally share this with anybody but I just wanna share with yas that my baby girl is 18 today, no longer my baby but always my girl - although I was fortunate that she was born healthy and has remained so, she holds a very special place in my heart - she is not my first born - my first precious girl was a full term stillborn and the gaping hole she left in my life was filled with the birth of my Carla Rebecca, who has been my constant shining star in my life, I am so very very proud of her, she constantly makes me smile every single day and every single day when I count my blessings she is always my number one blessing, she hasnt replaced my first precious girl and never will but she helped to heal the pain that I still feel to this day and I make sure that every single day I tell my girl how much I love her and how very proud I am of her.

Of course I realise that now my nightmares start, my girl no longer being under my direct control and I think that now my sleepless nights start lmaooooo

Anyways, I just wanted to share this happy day with yas all, and let yas know that there is always a shining light at the end of every dark tunnel, I hope yas dont mind

Much luv n hugs Grumps xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Grumps thank you for charing that.
I have lost 13 babies in pregnancy, Sebastian was going to be my last baby as I could no longer cope and he is my ‘baby’ my ray of sunshine. TO get ORla was gob smacking - I am very lucky to be a mother of 4, but I can never ever forget my ‘lost’ babies, and I grieve for them on what should have been their birthdays.
I am blessed to have my children, we all are as they are so precious and bring so much into our lives.
Of course they also make you bankrupt and leave you feeling like you have been in a whirlwind - but those are the joys !!!!

Thanks to all those of you who have been so open and shared your lives with us, greatly moved by you all

Awwwwwww I’m so sorry to hear such sad stories…but also such happy ones. I feel that all children are a gift and I know for sure I would be lost without mine (both of them). I too had a little girl and think of her often. She lives with the Angels and they take very good care of her. She will never ever be replaced and there will always be a special place in my heart for her. Our hearts are the biggest things in the world and can hold many many emotions, I think the video shows this perfectly. The dedication and love that one person is prepared to give to another is out of this world, it makes it all so very much more special when that person needs you so much. That is why I say that children are such special gifts. We help them grow and teach them right from wrong and we also learn from our mistakes. It truly is the little things that means so much. My son keeps me going day and night…and yes, sometimes it can be hard to carry on but I do it all the same. Just as he is my life, I am his life too, and although he is unable to tell me this himself, I know that his love has no end. He makes me happy, sad, hopeful, grateful and a whole lot more…omg I am rambling now. TUT (I so hate that word) this thread has brought out such deep emotions that people usually keep hidden…sometimes its nice to share and it does us good to let it show that we are all vulnerable.

    Luvs ya all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I know it was the wrong time to watch it again, just before my shift, but I showed it to my younger son and he sat silently watching it, then got up, touched my shoulder and went to his room. I went up to see if he was okay and found him sobbing. The power this video holds and the thoughts and feelings are so much stronger than anyone can imagine!!!

Well , I have just watched that video wondering wat ev1 was going all googly about. And , I`m gobsmacked - I have always believed I am blessed to have not only my gorgeous son but my partners 3 boys who I love like my own - I`ve also always firmly believed that we`re blessed to have healthy kids. Often I go mad at them cos of the smelly socks in bedroom , dirty football boots thru my immaculate lounge , the endless need for food , the taxi service I have to provide ( need I go on?) . But I don`t really know what to say - for once. All I know is that I have taken a lot of things for granted - well I cud go on but it pales into insignificance - I was actually moved by that video and that is summat for me . I`ll say no more.

Moxy - we all take things for granted, I am blessed with my lot but it doesn’t stop me from getting annoyed at the mess, the fighting (there is LOTS of that with my eldest 2) and the general feeling at the end of the day that we are hard done by by our kids.
Then you see a video like that and all gets into persepective.
We are all human and as such not perfect, but we all care - the response to the video clip by those who have watched it prove that.
Also the fact it has made us open up to our fellow bingo players a bit of our lives.
Thanks Stu - I bet you never invisaged that when you posted it on here.
It goes to show what a great bunch of maniacs we truly are.

I too have been moved by both the video and peoples personal stories. Thank you all for sharing them with us. I have 4 children, only my youngest lives with me, but thankfully they are all fit and well.

Whats wonderful about the people on this site is it is like one big extended family, but still small enough to care about each other.
